How to Install a Teros Sensor?

    Required Materials

  1. Excavator or shovel;
  2. Container with water;

Step 1. Prepare the surface for the sensor

Using the excavator or shovel, make a hole at the depth where you want to measure and wide enough so that the sensor can be inserted without damaging the spikes.
Clean one side of the hole until you find undisturbed soil.

In a pot, it is recommended to place it halfway down and away from the plastic.

Step 2. Insert the device into the soil

Carefully insert the device on the side of the hole you made, pressing it firmly and ensuring that both spikes are fully inserted into the soil. If you feel strong resistance, do not force it, as you may have hit a stone or root. In this case, remove the sensor and start the process again in another location.

Next, cover the hole with the soil you removed. Do this carefully, making sure the device stays against the side of the hole.

Finally, pour water over the area where you installed the sensor.

To properly calibrate the sensor, we recommend sending a soil sample for later analysis.
